Hydrographical surveys are completed using GPS GNSS smart antennas combined with Robotic Surveying Total Stations to provide for accurate and reliable data capture Information obtained is transferred to specialist software and processed to provide geo referenced river cross sections in AutoCAD drawing file format. Data can be exported in a wide range of formats all fully compatible with the Environmental Agency National Surveying Specifications.
Our surveyors have many years experience of hydrographic surveys; from minor watercourses to major rivers like the Rivers Tyne & Wear.
This type of survey work involves surveying open channel cross-sections across the watercourse, structure cross-sections, and flood plain topographical surveys as required.
These surveys are co-ordinated to Ordnance Datum & National Grid by using GPS.
Survey data can be provided in many formats, including AutoCAD DWG, ISIS & HEC-RAS; which are standard software packages used by hydraulic engineers. MIKE11 is also a standard export option from our river survey processing software.
Also, increasingly now, developers are being asked to have flood risk assessments carried out to study the potential ramifications of their proposed development.
NOTE: Not all surveying companies are equipped to carry out river survey work. Green World Surveys have the necessary experience and equipment.
